Sponsor a Plot in the Western Arizona Jewish Cemetery
A Sacred Mitzvah for Western Arizona
In Jewish tradition, establishing a dedicated sacred cemetery is one of the highest priorities of a Jewish community. For many years, families across Lake Havasu City and Western Arizona facing the loss of a loved one had to look far outside the area to arrange a traditional Jewish burial, often facing steep costs and long distances.
Through a special partnership at Hi Jolly Cemetery in Quartzsite, Arizona, Chabad of Lake Havasu City is working to establish a dedicated Jewish section. This sacred space helps ensure that Jewish men and women in our region can be laid to rest in accordance with Jewish tradition, close to the community they called home.
Our plots cost $650 each, with opening and closing at the time of burial adding another $600. Mortuary fees are separate. We are working to keep traditional Jewish burial as accessible and affordable as possible for local families.
Chabad of Lake Havasu City regularly hears from hospices and family members in Havasu, Bullhead City, Kingman, and beyond regarding Jewish patients and end-of-life needs. When finances would otherwise lead a family toward cremation, we strive to help make a proper Jewish burial possible.
We are partnering with other Chabad centers in Arizona as well as the Arizona Meis Mitzvah Project to build this lasting resource for the community.
